Mineral and Sourcing Business (MSB) enters a new market, exporting pyrophyllite for the glass fiber industry in China.

On 26 September Mr. Wisut Chongcharoenkit, Head of Green Circular Business (GCB), along with Mr. Prinya Wilaitham, Mineral and Sourcing Business Director, and Mr. Sitthiphong Khunphirom, Mining Solution and Sales Director, met with MR. ZHOU BIN, CEO, at the Asia Composite Material (ACM) factory in Rayong Province.

On this occasion, the management team visited the ACM factory to study the use of pyrophyllite in the production process of glass fiber, with them jointly having a plan to expand the export market and increase value (add value) in the production process. ACM is one of the four major manufacturers of glass fiber in China and has a continuous and growing demand for pyrophyllite. In April, MSB exported 200 tons of ore to ACM and plans to increase the export volume to 10,000 tons per month by October. It is also expected that in 2025, ACM will use up to 30,000 tons of pyrophyllite per month, in addition to cooperating in the sourcing of other raw materials for production and joint product development.

MSB, a leader in the rock, sand and mineral business under the Green Circular Business, is a major manufacturer and distributor of pyrophyllite used in the production of white cement and ceramic products in Thailand. Since 2021, MSB has started to explore new markets in the glass giber industry by starting to export to factories in Malaysia and has a plan to expand exports to more overseas markets.
